Ignoring your critics...

Celtics win!  Celtics win!  A BEATING of the consensus favorites with a thundering win tonight.  Still in Portland, wishing I was at the Garden (or at this point, yelling my way to the bars on Causeway.)   All year long, every sports writer and talking head picked the Celtics to fade.  They are too old.  Too many stars, not enough minutes.  Who will sacrifice stats for wins?  Rivers can't win the big game.  KG can't close.  Rondo can't shoot.  No bench.  Etc etc etc.  All they did was win.  And keep winning.  And crush the Lakers in 6.  And 7 out of 8 writers picked the Laker's.

Years ago, I heard a powerful entrepreneur offer this sage advice:  "Don't ever solicit advice from someone who has never done what you are about to do."  So true - and I think of this quote daily. 

Courage is about believing in yourself despite the calamity of overwhelming opinion to the contrary.  Ignore your critics and trust your passion for winning over their fear of losing.
