When things aren't clicking...

5:00 a this morning I get up to start my day.  Step on my son's plastic lion and bite my lip to hold back a scream.  Can't find my court shoes for my morning's squash game.  What is normally smooth sailing into Cambridge at that hour takes 40 minutes due to 2 accidents.  XM Radio kindly tells me that the traffic factor for Boston is "green."  (Side note:  there are few things as worthless as XMRadio's city traffic and weather channel 210.  Hopelessly inaccurate.)  Then the rain hits, and I get my suit soaked on the way into the gym.  Play lousy.  Leave a window open in my car and have my car fill with rainwater.

Its not even 7:30a yet and I am clearly having one of those days.  This is what I call the "no-flow."  I know that no matter how hard I try, this day will never be in sync.  My solution normally would be to go home, watch bad TV and eat 2 sleeves of Fig Newtons.  Can't really do that anymore, so...I admit that today ain't my day - move client calls out a day (where I can) and focus on email and internal meetings where I can't really hurt anybody.  Great gambler's piece of wisdom, "Don't ever bet on a streak to end."  That applies when things are working, AND when they are not.

To a better Friday...Happy Selling,

Jeff "Chief Basho"
